I have had the pleasure of collaborating with this ensemble since 2020, when I was invited to compose a new work, which resulted in the piece Luftagogia. Although I have previously worked with several renowned vocal ensembles, this particular artistic encounter has held special significance for me. Even though I was unable to attend the premiere of the work at the International Pyramidale Festival in Berlin, the recording I later received was entirely satisfying. The ensemble succeeded in rediscovering the original energy that gave rise to the composition, including intentions that had not fully materialized in the written score. Opportunities for such a level of artistic understanding are rare.
Luftagogia, performed by AuditivVokal Dresden, was selected for inclusion in the 2022 Online National Concert, organized by the Society of Composers, the most important composers’ association in the United States.
The invitation of AuditivVokal Dresden to the Remus Georgescu International Festival and Competition, organized by the “Banatul” Philharmonic in Timișoara (Romania), further confirmed for me that this is one of the most distinguished vocal ensembles in the European cultural landscape. I sincerely hope that our collaboration will continue in the future, and that the ensemble’s challenges will remain exclusively of an artistic nature.
